In the current study, we investigated attachment anxiety and interpersonal cognitive distortions as predictors of interpersonal relationship styles. In this context, we conducted this study to describe the relationships between attachment anxiety, interpersonal cognitive distortions, and interpersonal relationship styles, and to explore the mediating role of interpersonal cognitive distortions in the relationship between attachment anxiety and interpersonal relationship styles. A total of 342 adult women, 201 of whom were married (58.8%) and 141 of whom were single (41.2%), participated in the study, which was conducted based on the correlation model. In the study, data collection tools included the Experiences in Close Relationships Scale, the Interpersonal Relation Styles Scale, and the Interpersonal Cognitive Distortions Scale. In the study, mediation analyses were conducted, and the results indicated that interpersonal cognitive distortions had a partial mediating role in the relationship between attachment anxiety and interpersonal relationship styles. © 2023, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
