KIRILGAN BEŞLİ ÜLKELERİNDE FİNANSAL GELİŞME VE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME İLİŞKİSİ: DİNAMİK PANEL VERİ ANALİZİ

Abstract

Finansal gelişmenin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki rolü ile ilgili literatürde çelişkili görüşlerin yer alması, araştırmacılar arasında bu konuyu önemli bir ilgi odağı haline getirmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, finansal gelişme ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi özellikle 1980’lerden bu yana teorik ve ampirik literatürde en fazla tartışılan konuların başında gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada finansal gelişmenin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisi kırılgan beşli ülkelerinde (Hindistan, Endonezya, Brezilya, Türkiye, Güney Afrika) araştırılmıştır. 1990-2012 dönemini kapsayan çalışmada dinamik panel veri analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Finansal gelişmişliğin göstergesi olarak farklı değişkenlerin kullanıldığı çalışmada elde edilen bulgular, finansal gelişmişlik ve ekonomik büyüme arasında pozitif yönlü bir ilişki olduğunu göstermektedir.

Conflicting opinions of the role of financial development on economic growth in the literature have become a maj or focus of attention among researchers about this subj ect. In this regard, relationship between financial development and economic growth has been one of the most discussed topics in the theoretical and empirical literature especially since the 1980s. In this study the effect of financial development on the economic growth was investigated in fragile five countries (India, Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey, South Africa). A dynamic panel data analysis technique was used in the study for the period 1990-20 12. The findings obtained in the study which different variables used to represent the financial development show that there was a positive relationship between financial development and economic growth.
