Sağlık Harcamalarının Ekonomik Büyüme Üzerindeki Etkisi: Avrupa ve Merkez Asya Ülkeleri Örneği

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı 47 Avrupa ve Merkez Asya ülkesine ilişkin 1996-2014 döneminde sağlık harcamalarının ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisini ölçmeye yöneliktir. Çalışmanın ampirik analizinde iki farklı metodoloji kullanılmıştır. Öncelikle sabit etkiler modeli Driscoll-Kraay Standart Hatalar tahmincisi kullanılarak tahmin edilmiştir. Ardından İki Aşamalı Sistem GMM yöntemi kullanılarak katsayılar tahmin edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucu elde edilen bulgular birbirine paralel niteliktedir. Her iki analizde de kişi başına sağlık harcamaları ekonomik büyümeyi istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve pozitif etkilemektedir.

The aim of the study is to measure the impact of health expenditures on economic growth during the period of 1996-2014 for 47 European and Central Asian countries. Two different methodologies were used in the empirical analysis of the study. First, the fixed effect model was estimated using the Driscoll-Kraay Standard Error Estimator. The coefficients were then estimated using the Two Stages System GMM method. The results obtained are parallel to each other. In both analyzes,per capita health expenditure has a statistically significant and positive effect on economic growth.
