Küresel ekonomik krizle mücadelede IMF’nin değişen rolü

Abstract

2007 yılının ortalarında Amerikan mortgage sisteminin çökmesiyle başlayan küresel ekonomik ve finansal kriz tüm dünyada yıkıcı etkilere yol açmış; bu durum IMF’ye uluslararası finansal sistemdeki rolünü yeniden canlandırması için bir fırsat yaratmıştır. Küresel ekonomik kriz IMF kaynaklarına olan talebi arttırmış, buna bağlı olarak IMF küresel ekonomik krizin derinleşen etkilerini bertaraf etmek için kredi koşullarını ve kredi imkanlarını büyük ölçüde değiştirerek bir dizi reform yürürlüğe koymuştur. Bu çalışmada, IMF’de meydana gelen söz konusu değişiklikler ve IMF’nin dünya ekonomisinde üstlendiği yeni rol tartışılmaktadır.

The global economic and financial crisis, which began with the meltdown in the American subprime mortgage market in the middle of 2007, has caused economic hardship around the world. This situation has created an opportunity for the IMF to revive its role in the international financial system. Global fi-nancial crisis has led to an increase demand for IMF resources. Depending on this, in response to the deeping global economic difficulties, the IMF put into effect a series of reforms that will change its credit conditions and credit facilities. This paper investigates foregoing changes occurring in the IMF and its new role assumed in the world economy.
