This study was carried out between Carsibasi/Trabzon and Piraziz/Giresun region which is assumed to be the best ecology for Tombul hazelnut cultivation. Visual pre-selection was performed in the region and the clones that may exhibit different characteristics were detected and marked. Later fruit samples were taken from those clones at the time of harvest and the superior clones were determined as a result of the examinations performed on the fruits. The efficiency and fruit features were analyzed for selected Tombul hazelnut clones. The study showed that the differences between efficiency, yield, kernel weight, fruit weight, shell thickness and bundle fruit number were significant (P<0.05) among Tombul hazelnut clones. On the other hand, differences of navel cavity, splitting fruit ratio, whitening and healthy kernel ratio among clones were not significant. The highest and lowest values of efficiency were 13.45 and 168.47 g/cm(2), respectively. for clones 61V11 and 28M16, yield was 45.11-54.07%, respectively, for clones 61V11 and 28M17, kernel weight 0.89-1.19 g, respectively, for clones 61V11 and 28G16, fruit weight 1.67-2.19 g, respectively, for clones 61B08 and 28ES04, shell thickness 0.89-1.10 mm, respectively, for clones 28008 and 28ES04 and bundle fruit number 2.15-4.38, respectively, for clones 61B08 and 28EY12. The clones 28ES01 (53.86), 61C07 (53,88%), 61V25 (53.90%) and 28M17 (54.07%) had more superior characteristics in terms of yield compared to others.
