Piyasa yoğunlaşma endeksleri ve Gümüşhane ilinde pestil-köme sektörü üzerine bir inceleme

Abstract

Piyasa yoğunlaşması ile firma performansı arasındaki ilişki endüstri iktisadının önemli tartışma konuları arasında yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmada Gümüşhane ilinin en önemli üretim piyasası haline gelen Pestil-Köme sektörünün 2002-2017 dönemi üretim verilerinden yola çıkarak yoğunlaşma endeksleri hesaplanmış ve ARDL modeli çerçevesinde söz konusu piyasanın yoğunlaşmasını belirleyen faktörler analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulguların başında, sektörde 2002-2007 döneminde yüksek yoğunluk, 2007-2012 döneminde rekabetçi ve 2012-2017 döneminde ise tekrar yoğunlaşmanın arttığı gözlemlenmiştir. Hesaplanan Rosenbulth Endeksinin söz konusu piyasa için yapılan analize en uygun yoğunlaşma endeksi olduğu, bu endekse bağlı olarak yapılan analiz çerçevesinde uzun dönemde yerel nüfusun ve fiyatların, kısa dönemde ise şehre gelen turist sayısının yoğunlaşmayı arttırdığı yönünde bulgulara ulaşılmıştır.

The relationship between market concentration and firm performance is one of the most important controversial issues in industrial economics. In this study, condensation indices were calculated from 2002-2007 period production data of the Pestil-Köme sector, which became the most important production market of Gümüşhane province, and the factors determining the market concentration in the ARDL model were analyzed. At the beginning of the findings of the study, it was observed that high density in the period of 2002-2007 in the sector, competitive in the period of 2007-2012 and increase of the concentration in the period of 2012-2017. It has been found that the calculated Rosenbulth index is the most appropriate concentration index for the market to be analyzed for the market and that the long term local population and prices and the number of tourists coming to the city in the short term increase the concentration in the framework of this index.
