A research on yield, yield components and some quality criteria in six rowed barley cultivars grown under semi-arid and continental climate conditions of Gumushane. 3rd International Conference on Agriculture, Food, Veterinary and Pharmacy Sciences. 16 th-18 th April 2019 (16-18 Nisan 2019), Trabzon, Turkey. Pp. 1418-1426.Abstract
This study was conducted to determine grain yield and some quality traits of 11 different cultivars of six rowed barley in Şiran ecological conditions between 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 plant growth seasons. Experiments were carried out in completely randomized block design with three replications. In this research, duration of heading, plant height, spike number per m2, ear length, number of tiller per plant, weight of grains per spike, harvest index and grain yield, quality characters like thousand grain weight and hectoliter weight were investigated. According to the results of the average of the years; duration of heading, plant height, spike number per m2, ear length, number of tiller per plant, weight of grains per spike, harvest index, grain yield, thousand grain weight and hectoliter weight of the cultivars were ranged between 150.50-170.83 day, 69.66-105.33 cm, 129.45-325.33, 5.90-9.60 cm, 38.57-56.47, 1.48-2.52 g, 31.87-40.85%, 258.62-458.34 kg da-1, 38.51-44.08 g, 64.30-70.65 kg hl-1, respectively. Consequently, Olgun and Kıral-97 were advised to the district farmers as hopeful cultivars for production in yield and quality.
