This section elaborates on the definition, significance, and promotion strategies of civic literacy. The implementation of civic literacy within the context of life skills and social studies courses is extensively discussed, with a focus on the case of Turkey. Emphasizing the importance of integrating the life skills and social studies curriculum in fostering civic literacy, the challenges encountered in practice are also thoroughly examined. Furthermore, the discourse extends to the integration of civic literacy into technology, addressing both the challenges and advantages that citizens may encounter or experience. The role of civic literacy within widely-used social media applications, prevalent in today's technological era, is highlighted. Additionally, the technical application of civic literacy, exemplified by e-government initiatives, is scrutinized through various global instances. The concluding section reflects on the future of civic literacy and civic engagement. © 2024, IGI Global. All rights reserved.
