TÜRKİYE’DE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME, ENERJİ TÜKETİMİ VE İTHALAT İLİŞKİSİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Türkiye'de ekonomik büyüme, enerji tüketimi ve ithalat arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi 19842011 dönemi için zaman serisi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. GSYH'nın bağımlı değişken, enerji tüketimi ve ithalatın açıklayıcı değişken olduğu modelin birim kök testi sonuçlarına göre seriler I(1) seviyesinde durağandır. Johansen eşbütünleşme testi sonuçlarına göre değişkenler uzun dönemde birlikte hareket etmektedir. Son olarak uygulanan nedensellik testi sonuçlarına göre uzun dönemde enerji tüketimi ve ithalattan GSYH'ya doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi, kısa dönemde enerji tüketimi ve ithalattan GSYH'ya doğru tek yönlü; enerji tüketimi ile ithalat arasında ise çift yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilmiştir

In this study, the causality relationship among economic growth, energy consumption and import in Turkey was analysed for the period between 1984-2011 using the time series method. The series are stable at I (1) level according to the root unit test results of the model where GDP is a dependant variable and energy consumption and import are explanatory variables. According to Johansen co-integration test results, he variables move together in a long time period. According to the causality test results – carried out in the last place – it was found a unidirectional causality relationship from energy consumption and import towards GDP in the long term; a unidirectional relationship from energy consumption and import to GDP in the short term; and a bidirectional causality relationship between energy consumption and import and import
