dc.description.abstractThis study deals with calculating reactor volumes using a graphical process in treatment of wastewaters by activated sludge process for discharge and carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand (CBOD), different sludge ages, biomass concentrations, pollution loads and effluent soluble CBOD concentration. CBOD, measurements are carried out by using the standard oxidation (or incubation) test. Ultimate CBOD values are also estimated by the moment ad the least square methods. This study shows that the daily average pollution load of wastewaters is 352.5 kg d(-1) (monthly average discharge 20.4 1 s(-1), influent CBOD concentration 200 mg l(-1), activated sludge pond volume is 203-258 m(3) for different effluent CBOD concentration (50-40-30-20-10 mg l(-1) and biomass concentrations (3-3.5-4-4.5-5 g l(-1)) that are obtained from pollution loads volume charts. Therefore, data collection and the facility sizing are being illustrated by determining both quality quantity profile of a residential (KTU Central Campus) wastewater and the effect of the various parameters to the reactor.en_US
