Spirituality management in the workplace: New strategies and approaches
Özsungur, Fahri; Bekar, Fevziye
In recent years, after realizing that personal beliefs and spiritual development are as important as mental strength, studies in the field of spirituality in the workplace have grown exponentially. The experts here provide conceptual frameworks and guidance by examining the subject in the light of current developments at multiple levels of analysis: individual, organizational, cultural, and in leadership. Furthermore, this book focuses on rapidly evolving business models: remote working, the cyber-workplace, social media, digitalization, etc - all accelerated by the COVID-19 epidemic. The concept of spirituality in the workplace can be harmful as well as beneficial. Employees who are spiritually attached to the workplace may ignore issues known as 'organizational deviation' (such as theft and corruption) by keeping the interests of the institution in the foreground. These 'dark' and 'invisible' aspects of spirituality in the workplace are also examined, with a special focus on identifying aspects of spirituality which can harm businesses. Spirituality in the workplace considers employees as a whole, in spirit, body, and mind. © 2024 Fahri Özsungur and Fevziye Bekar. Individual chapters © 2024 The authors. All rights reserved.

Managing differences and importance between religion, spirituality, spirituality at work, cyber spirituality, and dataism
Bekar, Fevziye; Özbek, Mehmet Ferhat
Today, changing business systems, especially the COVID-19 epidemic, and the rapid development of technology have brought the phenomenon of spirituality to a new point. Cyber spirituality and dataism are also starting to become the focus of attention in this field. This situation also affects the issue of spirituality in the workplace. While the subject of spirituality in the workplace keeps up with innovations and expands in the literature, the relationship between religion and spirituality continues to be discussed and examined. For this reason, this study aims primarily to explain the relationship between the concept of religion and spirituality. In light of current developments, it is to mention the place of spirituality in the workplace between these two concepts. © 2024 Fevziye Bekar and M. Ferhat Ozbek. Cyberwars and national business systems from a macro-institutional perspective
Bekar, Fevziye
From the past to the present, strategies have been developed for business internationalization in the context of strategic management. These strategies have been examined theoretically and practically. To give an example of these approaches, the internationalization processes of businesses were primarily examined under two sub-headings, static and dynamic. A process where globalization affects national culture, social life, and borders is lived. Therefore, macro theory literature is another field that deals with the globalization process and internationalization strategies. The aim of this study is to examine how cyber wars will affect national business systems, based on the macro theory literature, with the interpretive paradigm. © 2023, IGI Global. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate self-efficacy and health literacy of patients undergoing hemodialysis, to investigate the relationship between health literacy and self-efficacy, and to determine the factors affecting self-efficacy. Methods: The study was conducted in Eskisehir and Gumushane state hospitals affiliated to the Public Hospitals Association with the participation of 198 patients receiving hemodialysis treatment for chronic renal failure. The inclusion criteria were as follows: being > 18 years old, receiving hemodialysis, and agreeing to participate in the study. The study data were collected using face-to-face interview technique, and they were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analysis. Results: The mean age of the patients was 59.73 +/- 16.32 years. Of the patients, 46% were primary school graduates, and 63.6% reported having other chronic diseases. The mean health literacy and self-efficacy scores were found to be 79.43 +/- 26.09 and 23.98 +/- 7.42, respectively. The results showed that the self-efficacy scores of the patients increased as the general health literacy scores increased, with a strong linear correlation between these variables (r = 0.712; p < 0.001). Patients with advanced age, low educational level, and widowed patients had lower self-efficacy and health literacy scores than others (respectively eta(2) = 0.263, 0.116, 0.268, 0.141). Conclusion: High score of health literacy positively affects the self-efficacy score of hemodialysis patients.
